Port of Ravenna

The Port of Ravenna is a multi-purpose port and an added value intermodal logistics platform equipped with port and railway freight terminals and directly linked to the motorway and railway freight networks.

Thanks to its strategic geographic position, it serves Northern Italy and Central Europe, and is the Port of reference for the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea markets, playing an important role in terms of trade with the Middle and Far East markets.

The Port of Ravenna is a Core Port of the TEN-T networks and belongs to the Baltic-Adriatic and Mediterranean Corridors.

It ranks first in Italy for the handling of cereals, foodstuff and feedstuff, fertilizers, clay and metallurgical products. Equipped to manage all types of goods including hazardous and exceptional project cargoes.

The “Ravenna Port Hub: infrastructural works” Project, constitutes a strategic project financed by the Italian Government and the European Union and comprises the deepening of the port’s seabed up to 14,5 m, the upgrading of its existing quays, the realization of a new container terminal and the creation of new areas destined for logistic/productive activities (around 2 million sq. m.).

It’s the only Italian port to have an LNG deposit and bunkering station serving ships and road transport.

There are also dedicated veterinary, health and phytosanitary control points in place to speed up operations and reduce daily logistic operation times and new systems for the digitization of customs procedures have been activated.
